Description Design
Transformation of dark enclosed space into open, pleasant environment. A healing environment based on evidence-based design is the central theme in the renovation of the academic psychiatric clinic of the Radboud UMC.
Can a modern psychiatric department be realized in the existing building according to the principles of a healing environment?
That was the question of the Radboudumc about the outdated - built in 1991 - psychiatric clinic. In close collaboration with other design parties and the Radboudumc, EGM investigated the feasibility of this transformation. The result was that the Radboudumc was the first hospital in the Netherlands to open a clinic that optimally responds to the care needs of psychiatric patients with High & Intensive Care.
